60 Degrees Pharmaceuticals Advances Tafenoquine Babesiosis Study with Key Clinical Trial Agreements
 
60 Degrees Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: SXTP) signed clinical trial agreements with Yale University, Rhode Island Hospital, and Tufts Medical Center for its groundbreaking Tafenoquine for Babesiosis study. The trial, which has already begun patient enrollment, aims to treat the emerging, tick-borne illness that has seen rising cases in the Northeast U.S. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study will recruit 24 to 33 patients and expects interim results by September 2025. Zomedica's PulseVet Named Official Shock Wave Technology of the USEA
 
Zomedica’s (NYSE American: ZOM) PulseVet system was named the "Official Shock Wave of the USEA" for 2024 by the United States Eventing Association. The USEA is dedicated to advancing the sport of eventing through education of riders, trainers, officials, and organizers, with the health and well-being of the horse of paramount importance. As part of this partnership, Zomedica’s PulseVet will sponsor several high-profile events, including the USEA American Eventing Championships and the USEA Classic Series. PulseVet's electro-hydraulic shock wave technology, which promotes healing in equine, canine, and feline patients, will support the health and performance of event horses. Calidi Biotherapeutics (NYSE American: CLDI) was granted a new U.S. patent for its SuperNova technology platform, bolstering its intellectual property as it prepares to advance its CLD-201 program into clinical trials. U.S. Patent No. 12,036,278, titled "Smallpox Vaccine for Cancer Treatment," covers Calidi’s innovative use of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells loaded with oncolytic vaccinia virus. This patent includes methods and compositions combining a smallpox vaccine with stem cells, significantly expanding the platform’s potential. CEO Allan Camaisa highlighted this milestone as pivotal for developing treatments for advanced solid tumors. PhoenixEV Delivers New Electric Bus Fleet to University of California, Irvine
 
Phoenix Motor’s (Nasdaq: PEV) PhoenixEV delivered five 40' ZX5 battery electric buses to the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in May 2024, enhancing UCI’s sustainable transportation system. UCI, the first university to adopt an all-electric fleet in 2018, now has 25 electric buses, having logged over 1.18 million miles and served 1.46 million riders in the 2023-24 academic year. The buses, charged via UCI’s microgrid, offer significant cost savings at $0.37 per mile compared to $1.53 for diesel. PhoenixEV’s CEO, Denton Peng, praised UCI's commitment to sustainability and their strategic partnership.
