Mr. Morriss was appointed as Chief Executive Officer on 1 February 2021 and brings over 20 years of experience within the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and FMCG industries having held senior executive positions at Sanofi and Blackmores. He brings a wealth of experience in managing teams and successfully executing across sales, marketing and brand building. Additionally, Mr. Morriss has been critical in leading commercialisation across these industries and understands the unique pressures and opportunities. He has led companies through strategic adaptation to execution and will be driving Genetic Technologies’ commercialisation strategy and continue to drive innovation across the business.

Mark is an experienced ASX listed, CFO and non-executive director. His executive career spans senior finance leadership roles with major ASX listed companies such as Cochlear, Aristocrat, Coca-Cola Amatil and Goodman Fielder. Currently, he serves as a non-executive director and chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of Opyl Limited, an ASX listed AI technology business focused on life sciences. Previously, he was non-executive director and chair of Respiri Limited, an eHealth SaaS company, and non-executive director and chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of Orcoda Limited, a SaaS based technology company.

Mark commenced his career with EY, working in business advisory, tax and management consulting. His most recent executive roles include, CFO and Company Secretary for Wiseway Group Limited (who he successfully led through an IPO and listing on ASX) and CFO of listed global medtech company Anteris Technologies Limited. Prior to this, Mark was Director of Finance and IT for Asia Pacific at Cochlear.

He has a strong track record of delivering growth and improvement across multiple industry sectors (medtech/health, technology, consumer) and geographies (Americas, Europe, Oceania). Mark has also worked extensively in Asia for more than 25 years. His strong finance and operations credentials are complemented by extensive strategy, M&A, corporate finance, investor relations, risk management and governance expertise. Much of Mark’s work has involved guiding and supporting high growth and early stage companies.

Dr. Muchnicki was appointed to the Board on 31 January 2018 and acted as Interim Chief Executive Officer from September 2019 till the appointment of Mr. Simon Morriss to the role. George graduated from Monash University and has held positions in private practice for over 25 years and was Head of Student Health at The University of Melbourne. For the past 14 years, he has been involved in commercialisation and funding R&D in the biotechnology sector from gene silencing to regenerative medicine.

Dr. Muchnicki brings with him strong commercial and medical skills, including broad interests in software development, blockchain and sustainable building materials. He is a co-founder and Non-Executive Director of Speed Panel Holdings a world leader in fire rated and acoustic wall solutions. He is also the co-founder of Candlebets, a software development company that is creating blockchain enabled platforms for the gaming industry.

Dr. Spaeth joined the company in 2016 and is responsible for the development of clinical content and clinical rationale for GTG products. With a focus on transposing GTG’s cutting-edge approach to disease risk modeling into effortless yet actionable genetic-integrated information for both clinicians and patients, she is a cross-functional team member. She is involved in developing and executing commercial clinical research, pilot studies and managing academic research collaborations. She has wide experience in the high complexity laboratory space from assay development to regulatory oversight of laboratory developed tests in the oncology, infectious disease and inherited disease space. Her postdoctoral training was completed at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she focused on the role of the microenvironment in tumor progression. Erika holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas Health Science Center and a B.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of Connecticut.

Carl is an experienced senior leader in the biotechnology and diagnostics industry with a focus on commercialisation, sales, marketing and business development.

He has considerable experience commercialising diagnostic products, both locally and globally. Based in the USA for 13 years, he served as Senior Vice President for Panbio USA Ltd and Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Focus Diagnostics, a subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics (NASDAQ:DGX), one of the world’s largest pathology laboratories.

In July 2012, Carl moved back to Australia where he was appointed Chief Business Officer at Benitec Biopharma Limited (ASX: BLT, NASDAQ: BNTC). More recently he has assisted several Australian biotech companies with their commercialisation strategies. These companies include BCAL Diagnostics, a start-up company developing a blood test for breast cancer, Minomic, an Immuno Oncology company with a test for prostate cancer, and Biotron (ASX: BIT), a listed company that is developing and commercialising anti-viral small molecule therapies. In 2019 Carl was appointed CEO and Managing Director of Sienna Cancer Diagnostics Ltd (ASX: SDX). In that role, he helped lead the successful merger between Sienna and BARD1 Life Sciences (ASX:BD1). Following the merger, Carl was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the merged entity BARD1 Life Sciences.

Carl has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Technology) from the Queensland University of Technology.
