For the week the S&P was up 0.4% and for the year it is up 23.7% making a new all-time high this week.  Gold trading at yet another record-high above $2,700 and closed at $2,735 for the first time.  Bitcoin was up 10% for the week and closed at $68,6011. Oil - In 2024, U.S. net oil exports have reached 2.0 million barrels per day on average, near the most on record.  By comparison, in 2006, net imports were as much as 13.4 million barrels per day and have been declining ever since. Currently, America pumps more than 13.4 million barrels per day and is the world’s largest oil producer - Time Magazine

 

S&P 500 – The 30-year return for the S&P 500 is 1,135%, meaning it has risen more than twelvefold in the past 30 years.  On an annualized basis, the index is up 8.8% per year over 30 years, 11.3% over 10 years, and 28.7% over the past three quarters - Axios

 

Health Insurance - The average cost of a family’s annual health insurance premium is up 7% over the last 12 months to a record $25,572.  This is the second consecutive year with a 7%+ increase, pushing premiums higher by $3,109 in just 2 years.  Since 2000, the average health insurance premium has quadrupled - The Kobeissi Letter

 

Auto Loans - Auto loan 90+ day delinquency rates are now 2.88%, the highest since Q2 2010.  Auto loan debt held by American rose to a record $1.63 trillion, 92% above 2008 levels.  Car insurance costs jumped 15% in the first half of 2024 and hit a new record of $2,329 – Ryan Detrick
